At Queen's, our welcoming living and learning environments offer students the programs and services needed to be successful. Of course, students still look to their parents or guardians for guidance.

Important Dates

Academic Support: Student Academic Success Services offers online resources, one-on-one appointments and workshops designed to help students develop their skills in critical thinking, reading, learning, studying, writing, and self-management. If your student struggled in first semester, they may be eligible for Bounce Back, a program for first-year students. Students are matched with an upper-year student mentor who works with them to help identify issues and develop learning strategies. Eligible students are contacted in the fall and winter term via email.


  • January 7: Winter term classes begin
  • January 7-13: Try out some new classes at the Athletics & Recreation "Fitness Free For All" at the ARC
  • January 10: Winter term tuition fees due
  • January 11: Last date to apply for international exchange for 2019-2020
  • January 18: Last date to add winter term classes
  • January 18-19: BEWIC Sports Days tournament
  • January 18: Last date to drop winter term classes without financial penalty
  • January 22: Summer Opportunities Job Fair at the ARC 10:30am-3:30pm
  • January 26: Bell Let’s Talk Super Saturday with 5 varsity games aiming to help reduce mental health stigma.
  • January 27: Student Affairs' peer programs application deadline
  • January 30: Bell Let’s Talk Day
  • January 31: Last day to pay Winter term fees without penalty.



  • March 7 : Deadline to register for accommodations for centrally scheduled April exams.

  • When making travel plans, be sure to check the sessional dates specific to your student's faculty/school.
  • Academic calendars provide additional information on regulations, policies, programs, courses and degree requirements; or visit your student's faculty site for more details.
